This was fresh in their minds, even right before TG reunited in March or April 2004. The police arrested Genesis at some PTV show and he apparently blamed John and Sleazy, much to their chagrin. He warned Genesis of this fact, but Genesis did not listen. Years after he and lover John Balance left PTV to concentrate on Coil (the best band ever, having beat JD for me a few years ago), public indecency laws changed, meaning Sleazy's videos could no longer be shown legally.

Regarding the PTV videos, when Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson first directed and made them, their content was legal to be shown in the British public. I think that's just Genesis infringing on JD's history a bit. The two were artistic friends, and you know what? I bet from artist to artist Ian absolutely confided in Genesis about his emotional turmoil, since he knew none of his band mates or drinking lads would understand, but they were not buddy-buddy. I believe sometime before Ian died he sang one of his favorite TG songs to Genesis, "Weeping," over the phone, but this story that Genesis called him the night before his death is bullshit. There are versions of Ceremony as recorded by Joy Division. It was written when Ian Curtis was still alive, and one of the last Joy Division songs to be composed. I've been dying to read Cosey's new book, myself. In January 1981, New Order released its first single, Ceremony. View Member Profile Send Email Find Member's Topics Find Member's Posts Wallflower
